Thresh Power

Our Vision

At Thresh, we believe the path to abundant, low-cost renewable energy runs straight through better software.

The world already knows how to build wind farms and solar arrays. What slows us down—and drives up cost—is not physics or materials, but paperwork. Thousands of hours of human labor are spent reviewing contracts, verifying data, and coordinating diligence workflows that are tedious, expensive, and error-prone. These "soft costs" can make up over 30% of total project cost in U.S. renewables. Our thesis is simple: if we can automate these workflows with software, we can make clean energy projects cheaper, faster, and more scalable—unlocking gigawatts of climate impact.

Recent breakthroughs in large language models have changed what computers can do. For the first time, machines can read, reason, and interact in natural language—skills once considered uniquely human. This isn’t just an incremental improvement. It’s a step change. A new era of computing. And it’s creating space for entirely new products, new workflows, and new interfaces. The tools that people will use to interact with digital information ten years from now haven’t been invented yet. We’re building them now.

We’re starting in renewable energy M&A because it's both tractable and high impact. But our ambition is much larger. We want to design the control systems for a new kind of knowledge work—one where AI agents handle the rote, rules-based, and repetitive, and humans spend their time on judgment, creativity, and connection.

That means new infrastructure. New interfaces. New ways for humans and machines to think together. We’re building the tools that will make that future possible—and we’re doing it in service of one of the most urgent challenges of our time.
